Non Epileptic Seisures
We are currently looking into working much more with this condition and in fact other non diagnosed conditions. Counselling and yoga together work with great results, we are undertaking a project n researching how the condition can be helped.
Dr Priyanka Pradhan a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist and Helen Lehrle Adv.Dip.Psych.Couns MBACP will be working together on this project.
- What is the treatment for dissociative seizures?
- Where can I get support?
If you have dissociative seizures, epilepsy medicine won’t work for you. But don’t stop taking the medicine suddenly because this may be dangerous for you. Your doctor will tell you the right speed to do this at. Often just getting a correct diagnosis and understanding a bit more about your seizures can mean that they start to happen less often.
This is a quote from a specialist that might help:
“You didn’t bring the attacks on, but you can help yourself to get better.”
If seizures don’t stop once you have your diagnosis, a number of more specialist treatments may be offered to you:
- Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)
Treatment is available and support is where we can help: We are working on our counselling service to offer talking therapy, relaxation and coping mechanisms all of which will help you.
We understand this is real for you, we believe you! we cant claim to fix them but we may help reduce them.
We will update this page with much more information shortly..... in the meantime get in touch and see how we can help.
