Thea Bailey

My name is Thea Bailey

My style of counselling is person centred and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I offer support with everyday issues including anxiety and low mood as well providing specialised and specific support for major life experiences such as relationship breakdown, bereavement, redundancy, changes in life direction, retirement, family issues, becoming a new parent, becoming a step-parent.

Not all counselling work has to go back to the past and I am able to work with clients who wish to stay in the present and work through issues using solution focused techniques.

If you prefer, telephone counselling is available which can be helpful if you have difficulty travelling or have time constraints.

I use hypnotherapy for therapeutic purposes.  Hypnotherapy is a useful tool which can help you to learn relaxation techniques which you can take away and practice. Especially helpful for dealing with stress and anxiety. Whilst in a deeply relaxed state we are able to focus on specific problems or to help you succeed in achieving your goals.

As well as working in my own private practice, I volunteer at my local hospice providing bereavement support and provide counselling to support offenders within the prison service.

I also work with Helen in family therapy.
